Anita Valentinova, source: infotourism.net, 15.02.2011
Belgium holidaymakers wish to visit Bulgaria in order to get familiar with opportunities for alternative tourism. They wish to explore pilgrimage, cultural, historic tourism, as well as the alternative forms of tourism, camping, eco tourism etc. This is the conclusion after Bulgarias town Rousse participated in the biggest annual tourism fair in Brussels, Belgium Brussels Holiday Fair (Salon des Vacances). Many destinations were presented at the fair. Bulgaria and more specifically Rousse region were presented with various brochures, photo albums in English and French, as well as illustrated catalogues. The accents in the presentation were tourist information centre in Rousse, the wine-producing factory and the beautiful Nature Park Roussenski Lom.
The visitors were particularly attracted by Bulgaria since t appears to be an unexplored destination for them. They were interested in specific holiday offers which are tailored by tour operators. Also, Belgium travellers wished to familiarize themselves with the location of Bulgaria, the climate and natural resources.
Tourists wanted to buy some maps of Bulgaria. All visitors had the opportunity to go through photo reports, presenting Bulgarias most beautiful landscapes, plant and animal species that live along Danube River. The local representative also included in the program a presentation Tourism and cultural heritage in Rousse city. Most visitors were particularly impressed with Bulgarian traditional dishes and the various tourism opportunities that Nature Park Roussenski Lom provides.
